Rocking Horse Girl 29Faces and IA

I'm posting this a little early as this is Friday's 29Faces work.  It is also linked to Inspiration Avenue's, "Rocking Horse" theme.  You could visit IA to see all the entries on Sunday afternoon, and you could enter your own creation before noon EST on Sunday at that same link.  29Faces link is in the right sidebar and is ongoing for the month of February, one face each day of the month.

She is watercolor and acrylic.  For some unknown reason, my scanner won't accept the color Pink unless it is in large areas.  This skirt had a pink pattern to make it plaid and the saddle has a pink flower, but the scanner won't accept that amount of pink, so I've left it as is.  The skirt is better in plaid, though.

The pen doodles on junk mail paper that looks like a passport is for Saturday's faces.

I'll be back on Monday with the Sunday and Monday faces.

I gave up on scanning so now I just take a photo & download it, although if you take it at night it really effects the colours & of course if it's too bright :( so usually happy medium, daytime, indoors ;) Fun work!

Whimsy is the word I thought when I first saw your rocking horse. Even without the piece, your image is full of humor and enjoyment. Thanks so much for entering IA this week.

I have seen the 29 faces on several blogs, and really like what you have done.

Love your piece for this week's IA challenge! So unique!

Kudos to you for joining the 29 faces-I'm too chicken!

Thanks everyone! It has been fun trying to do these challenges. I'm surprising myself with sticking to it.

This is the fourth scan that different shades of pink won't transfer to the scan. I have an empty water gallon bottle which sometimes works as an improvised "lightbox" and maybe I'll have to try using that again. It's dark late and early here, so the camera flash usually isn't a good solution.

Thanks Elizabeth, your theme has proven fun!

Debbie, come on in, your aceos and your dolls have great faces!

So far, no one has noticed the weird attributes on the girl, or maybe too polite to point it out? :D

Gloria, I have to say, you are unique and different and that's excellent! Your rocking horse girl is so cool! She looks like she is from a tribe, deep in the forest! And, her arms? A horse for one and a hoof for another? Very cool!
Love the faces on the junk mail! You are doing a great job! The guy sticking his tongue out is funny!
Talk soon ;o)

WOW this one is wild! I like all the colors.
Have you tried clicking on the "reset" in your scanner? Mine was doing something weird too, and I clicked reset and all the balance came back. Sometimes things get moved accidentally. I hope is that and you can fix it.

Cool style and what a innovative use for junk mail too! Can't wait to see more faces for the challenge!

Thanks everyone!

Stacy, you guessed it! (Her arms and she's wearing a mask.) Not sure if she is sci-fi, a kid w/imagination, a Margaret Mead anthropologist type, or something else.

Ayala, I'm going to see if I can reset the scanner, thanks for that suggestion.

Cool work! Love these faces!

Yes, the metal stamping is a stress reliever. I need to stock up on more supplies for stressful work days!

Doodles on junk mail are one of my favorite things! :) You have more interesting looking junk mail than I get.

Thanks everyone- I'm not sure what is going to end up on paper, but this challenge is helping me to keep practicing. Rocking horse lady is a little scary, but fun, too. I saved that piece of junk mail for a long time looking for some way to use it.

I'm a bit late visiting the IA rocking horse entries. lol. But I've been enjoying all your recent faces on your posts - they're so imaginative and each tell their own story. Fab!
