Butterfly Dreaming of Spring, it's Only 61 Days Away

Pretty butterfly art is the theme at Inspiration Avenue this week.  Hettienne lives where it's gorgeous and warm right now, so for pity's sake us suffering with winter get to think about butterflies to take our minds off our snow covered walkways and windshields.  Thanks, Hettienne for picking this theme.

I didn't have a chance to make new art, but I'm showing you three aceos and two brooches I already made.  One of those brooches was made while the windchill was 40 below and the snow was coming down horizontally and furiously, so I know about butterfly dreams being a great diversion.

The middle aceo with the USA stamp has the overhead light washing out the color, sorry about that.  These are three collages and one is also mixed media.  Only 61 days until Spring...

If you want to see the art or add your butterfly creation, it doesn't have to be art it could be jewelery, clothing, anything with a butterfly go to the link and add your creation before noon EST on Sunday, January 22.  Check back and see what the new theme is on the following Monday afternoon.  This repeats like that each Sunday and Monday.

The cards and aceo's are just wonderful... how lucky to have a heap of things on hand like that... as to the 61 days until spring.... does that mean I have 61 days of this heat left.... I know it is mean to mention it while you are cold, and snow coming sideways does not sound like fun, but it is so horridly humid here the last few days it is like being wrapped in a wet blanket all the time... hopefully we only have a few more weeks of it before the humidity breaks... and autumn cools us all down ...have a horrible feeling your 61 days might be closer to the mark though .... have a great week and hope the snow stays away... and by the way I think if I had fed Mushu Pepperoni I wouldn't have recovered from the snart!! xx

Hellooo Gloria, your link on IA seems to be incorrect? But I found you nonetheless. I am glad that you enjoyed thinking about butterflies. We are having a heatwave and the butterflies are dancing in pairs and the dragonflies are buzzing on my pool. Loved your entry and displaying our link and details about challenge so clearly, thank you. Come back for some interesting new developments. Have you considered signing up for a co-host? Have a look on IA blog - there is a button and a previous post. keep well

The cold and snow are enough to keep anyone snuggled under a blanket and ou9t of your art studio. I'm feeling the same, but without the snow, blizzard, and death defying wind chills. These are some lovely ACEOs. I'm curious about the brooches, so I must investigate further. Stay warm and safe this week!

Gloria, you are such a creative person! I have to admit, I can't complain about winter this year, where I am. I hope you are keeping nice and warm ;o) Make sure you wear your fuzzy's ;o) LOL!

The brooches are beautiful. The butterflies reminded me of my dear friend's mother. She use to collect butterfly art and she passed away a few years ago but I remember her collection fondly and something she did through our childhood.

Wow, and only 61 days until spring!!

Only 61 days till Spring you say? Yipee! Gloria, all of these are beautiful! When I enlarged the photo, I could see all the wonderful details you added to each piece. They are all special and unique just like real butterflies are.

Thanks, Tracey and I'm sorry that humidity is bugging you night and day, if I could blow some cooling winds down under they'd be arriving any second. I hope Mushu doesn't get a complex, being the center of conversation, those snarts he hands out are world famous. Luckily I don't get the sn part, luckily?

Hi Hettienne, thanks and sorry you had trouble with the link. I'm picturing your garden now, pushing the snow out of my way, there's your pool... I'll go and read that post, thanks for the info.

Hi Elizabeth, thanks and we've had another 3 inches on top of the previous 3, but happily will soon be having rain to wash it all away!

Thanks Stacy, and the weather up your way should be snowy by now? There's still plenty of winter ahead of us. I think I have hot tea and not blood in my veins :0!

Thanks, Lucy and isn't that remarkable you remember that nice lady and her love of butterfly art, I'm happy to have sparked that memory for you, thank you for telling me that.

Oh, thanks Debbie! 61 days on the calendar, but up here it'll probably be closer to 120 days- no kidding either. I'll just look at gardens online and tv and feel the spring coming that way.

Thanks Katherine. My Mom had that same impression and I witnessed that a few times myself, thanks for reminding me of that. Have the best day today and another one after that...
