I was on a kick using these bright acrylic paints and some paper napkins in this aceo. The smaller strips remind me of candy wrappers and the rose is a rose, well- it's a rose.
Once I scanned the aceo I could see the texture in the napkin much clearer, so I may add something to it to embellish the rose; something lightweight as the coldpress paper will need backing if too much is laid upon it. Maybe add a little aging to it overall?
It's a little cheery to look at with the dark and dreary winter out here in the midwest. Last year we were fortunate to not have the usual omnipresent snow and ice for months on end. We had some weeks with less snow and for that, I am very thankful. Hope we get an encore this winter, no guarantees, of course..
I started this aceo last winter, and put it aside, maybe I'll finish it
before Spring, lol.
Are you looking forward to the winter or would you like a long autumn?

what a beautiful, bright rose! i love the texture, too.
hoping for a very long fall that leads onto spring :-) but according the the critters in my yard, we are gonna get slammed this winter.
Hi Gloria,
It's a beauty! I love the rose.
I'm looking forward to a mild winter too. Last year NJ had snow in October.
beautiful Gloria! so creative
I'm one of those strange people that love the snow. I love how peaceful it is to be inside by the fire. But then reality sets in when I have to shovel! Seriously hope we don't have a winter like 2 years ago! We had so much snow in the yard we built tunnels for the kids - ridiculous!
I love this vibrant rose! There is a Frida Kahlo-esque quality to it :)
I really like the brightness of your aceo--very cheery any time of year.
The older I get, the less I like Winter. I love seeing the snow, hearing the quiet, as long as I don't have to drive in it.
This aceo is beautiful! I hope you do finish it before Spring! LOL! I have to admit, I love winter, but it's the driving in it, that I don't like!
Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop. Wishing you a beautiful weekend xo
Count me in for a long autumn vote, though I did promise myself I was going to try and enjoy winter this year and not complain about it even once. We'll see how I do. ;)
Love the start of the rose!
This is beautiful Gloria. I love how the texture shows on the rose. Last winter was such a pleasant one. It would be wonderful if Mother Nature decides to give us an encore!
Oh,this is beautiful and I love red roses,so this is right up my alley.
Ah, yes, the gray skies of winter, not my favorite.
Such vibrant colors! LOVE :)
Thanks for sharing with my NO RULES Weekend Blog Party.

Ditto! I too love the colors and the brightness! Happy Monday to you!
Wow. You made lots of banners. It's such a long, arduous project when I redo my banner, getting the pictures altogether and sized, and the text, etc. Good for you. Good job. Linda
